This is the development of FTTX in the Asia-Pacific region and China in the past few years
1, Asia Pacific FTTX development status
Japan is the fastest growing country in FTTH. By the end of 2008, Japan's FTTH users reached 14.42 million. Only Japan's NTT company plans to reach 20 million FTTH users in 2010. The final date of FTTH in Japan is "Do it youself in FTTH". Broadband coverage reached 100 in 2010, reducing the number of regions without broadband construction to zero; In 2010, 90 households in Japan had access to ultra-high speeds. The Japanese government provides interest-free loans for FTTX broadband construction and covers one-third of FTTX deployment costs. South Korea announced in 2004 that it will gradually use FTTH instead of the existing DSL network. By 2010, FTTH household user penetration rate will exceed 70, while FTTX coverage will reach 92, and a corresponding development plan "IT839 Strategic Plan" has been formulated. As of the end of June 2009, South Korea's FTTX users were about 8 million, and the penetration rate reached 44, ranking first in the world. In June 2009, the FTTX penetration rate in Taiwan and Hong Kong reached 33 and 18 respectively, ranking second and fourth in the world respectively. The Australian government invested US$ 4.4 billion in the construction of FTTX in June 2008.
2, China mainland FTTX development status
In mainland China, there are three companies that mainly develop FTTX. China Telecom and China Unicom build FTTB and China Mobile build FTTH. China's FTTX development is far later than Japan, South Korea, the United States and other countries. It began to be promoted in 2003, but it has developed rapidly. In 2008, it began to enter a stage of rapid development. China Telecom purchased 4 million user equipment in the second batch of tenders, and China Unicom purchased 1 million user equipment. In 2009, China Telecom accelerated its development. China Telecom completed the procurement of the third batch of FTTX equipment. China Unicom also recently purchased 11 million users of FTTX equipment. China Mobile has also begun large-scale procurement and deployment of FTTX. At present, several cities and regions have developed FTTX successfully. China Telecom Shanghai launched the "Shanghai City Light Network Project" in June 2009. It plans to reach 1.5 million FTTX users by 2010 and 3 million in 2011. Wuhan City also launched the FTTX development plan in early 2009 and plans to reach 500,000 users in 2010 and 1 million users in 2015. China Mobile has begun large-scale deployment of FTTX in Jiangsu, Guangdong and other provinces. China Netcom Shanxi plans to cover all city users in FTTX in 2011. According to the report of the "Light Wave Communications" website in 2010, the number of FTTX users in China in 2009 exceeded 20 million, ranking first in the world.
In 2019, Shenzhen will enter the 5G era and is expected to open a new chapter in FTTX. Leitong Technology will keep pace with the times and provide everyone with better and better products.
