Now in its 43rd year and returning to Sweden for the first time since 2004, this year's ECOC exhibition is a complete sell-out, it is no surprise, with operators and service providers now increasingly looking towards fibre manufacturers to help meet the demand for new technologies.
"The fact we had to make more exhibition space avaliable and subsequently sold out the additional space within a matter of weeks speaks volumes about what an important time this is for the fibre optic industry, "said Beverley Lucas, Event Director for Nexus Media Events Ltd, organisers of the ECOC exhibition. "The event provides a great forum for the leading names of our industry to meet and do business, and we're delighted to welcome companies new and old to this year's exhibition."
Significant support from host country manufacturers has helped ECOC to reach this milestone. Visitors will also be able to meet with familiar ECOC names, like Finisar, Fujikura, Fujitsu, Huawei, Intel, Keysight, Lumenturn and Sumitomo.
Hot conference topics for this year include fibre devices and amplifiers, integrated systems and optical processing, digital techniques for optical communications, transmission subsystems and network elements, datacom hardware, point-to-point technologies, data centres, and metro, access and indoor networks.
In addition to the conference, this year's Market focus, ECOC's commercially concentrated on-floor seminars, will address fibre access, data centre and network agility themes, with presentations from Delta Group, Ethernet Alliance, Juniper Networks, Microsoft, Ovum and Viavi.
